_O_ weapons are predominantly electromagnetic-propulsion (or
"gauss") weapons; recoil would not be an issue. (Even missiles; if
they work like current units, they are flung out of the pod, then fire
up the engines.)

Said warping and chipping could be dealt with in the field, using
WakiGlu[TM] for the latter, and Big Pocking Wrenches (or Hammers)
for the former. Admittedly, for Campaign purposes, it would not be
permanent (that is, between scenarios, there could be "permanent"
track loss"); but for short-term use, it would be adequate.
