I understand the need for SJG to do something to
help keep the game alive - I think we all can agree on
that. However, thirteen years has certainly been
enough time to expect new rules to have been
published.
Perhaps a better solution for the interim (should
a renewed interst at SJG mean we could have new rules
within say, a year) would be to use e23 as a portal
for player submitted materials like scenarios, rule
variants, etc. This would not only offer new material,
but would help to vest the current fans of the game in
its success. If the items are given freely to e23 by
fans, then they should be free to customers on e23. If
these items were to be sold by SJG, then those who
submit should share in the profits - unless they are
selfless enough to work for free.
The interest is out there, but the commitment on
SJGs end has been sorely lacking. I feel as though the
game dies a little more each day.
