Well, there's this niggling little issue:

the novel material in industrial-scale quantities and now we are
looking for partners in order to realize our ideas," said Dubrovinskaia.

IOW, someone's going to have to plow a boatload of cash into mak-
ing this stuff; and I can't think of anyone with that kind of bank bal-
ance who has the patience to wait for this stuff to become profitable.
