It depends. Can I take 12 off map cruise missiles and a Missile Tank
as my armor? If the infantry enter on a narrow map edge they can't
scatter fast enough to stay alive, I don't think.
A Mark V versus 75 squads is interesting, if the Ogre enters the map
in a corner, only 3 hexes border it. It holds the rattlers in
reserve, waits for 3 stacks to appear at its doorstep, decimates them
with spillover fire. Or that's the theorey, anyway. Practice may be
different!
By the way, last night we played Ogre vs AT-AT. We had fun with
"stormtrooper platoons", 2/1 M1 D2. They *had* to be M1 to justify
the AT-AT's mission as a troop carrier at M2. We didn't fiddle with
individual squads, they were disabled just like armor. The result was
fast playing and less fiddly than official infantry, yet still
retained their flavor. Ah, the flavor of suckyness.
