[Ogre] soldier ever survived his enlistment

Since the Ogre timeframe is quite extended, I would have to say that:
1. Yes - soldiers have survived their enlistment. If they didn't you would soon have no enlistments, and then no soldiers. Even with a draft, and I'm assuming that Ogre-world would probably have a draft - you would still need survivors.

2. Since it seems to me that the Ogre timeline consists of a long extended campaign you would need to keep soldiers around for awhile. I'm guessing that full-fledged battlesuit technology will approach aircraft pilot-type training. Pilots are coddled in between missions. There is too much invested in training to make them disposable. 

3. Armies need a core of professionals who survive long enough to train the next generation of soldiers. In any particular battle, you may have a high loss rate, but it can't be carried on over time.
