I don't. However, I can knock the tracks off my OGRE quickly
enough to slow it down, and then it gets overwhelmed. (I tend to
play solitaire -- the SO is not a wargamer.)

Read it. Tried it. Beat it.

When did this BS get added? I've yet to see a hovercraft that had to
pause before transitioning from water to land -- FCOL, that's why
hovers were created!

Wrong. The east *was* (assuming what you say above is correct)
the only route that allowed the Attacker a chance at a Decisive win;
now the scenario cannot be won by the Attacker at all. (This sce-
nario is why we came up with the "GEVs jumping streams" rules;
otherwise, the GEVs cannot both get to the combat zone *and* get
off-map in time to win.)

I use the one that existed in _OB_ 1st ed. -- the forests effectively
block the GEVs; the road damage and streams foreclose either of the
land routes; and with the track-slappers not having to pay attention
to forests*, the Defender can always concentrate forces to block
the Attacker.

[*: LTs will be slowed a bit, but that's all.]

Ironically, there *is* one way the Attacker can win -- by using his
dual-move ability, he can always outrun the armor and INF; so he
can "win" the scenario *only by wiping out the Defender*, which
defeats the whole purpose of the bloody scenario!
