See, I always considered "participating" to be a more flexible term.
The card doesn't use the more rigid (and well defined) "aiding".
I guess I would consider someone power an "Are We Having Fun Yet?" against a 
defending group to be participating in the attack.

However,

I guess I just got carried away by the cool trick title ;)
