AFAIK, the resource doesn't leave play just because the group does.
Admitted, the rules do state that a linked resource is captured with the 
group and destroyed with it.
But, under "the cards remember" it is also stated that if a group is 
returned to hand or discarded then the link becomes temporarily illegal.
To me that signifies that the resource doesn't leave play with a 
discarded/bounced group.

But I catch your drift:
If either the group or the resource leaves play then the link becomes 
illegal, but can be relinked later. If not relinked, then it reasserts 
itself when both cards are back in play.

Neat,
now I've got a clever little trick for an upcoming adepts deck. (emphasis on 
the "little").
