Hi Aaron,
I think that the SJG site states about the semi-uniques that they are not 
the same card as their US counterpart - but that the 2 cards may not be in 
play at the same time.
So, you could play New York, have your favourite Cthulhu player destroy it, 
then smile at him and play Frankfurt on your next turn (without a media 
blitz).

So, they are not the same card, and they don't mimic attributes/alignments.

I'm not aware of any errata site, so my guess is that:
*Showmaster isn't media.
It's a bit like the moonies and nephews of god not being churches.

*Topmodell has whichever bonus is on the card. I figure that thats just bad 
editing.
