:nod: Indeed, that's exactly how I picture the opening scene ending.

What's more, there's the question of what happened between the ghost's
death and the Kyriotate's death.  If the ghost and the Kyrio had a
working relationship before the Kyrio became a Remnant, the ghost will
know more about the Remnant and its capabilities than the Remnant
does.

The guy who turned him into a Remnant would almost certainly be a
subject of his Hunt.

Scabbard (from Superiors 1) might be interesting, especially if he
stowed away a gun in it before being turned into a Remnant; he'd be
packing, but wouldn't realize it.  Likewise, he might have Purity of
Purpose, which would be handy if he's called upon to help organize a
Neighborhood Watch.  As well, he _does_ still have Essence, and can
still spent it instinctively; so Songs and Relics aren't entirely out
of the question, though their use would probably be unreliable.
