Well, that was the whole point of the Purity Crusade, of course -- 
changing what was possible.  It was a heck of a loophole Vapula 
stumbled on.  After the Aztecs made alliance with Vapula to go back in 
time and attempt to "take out Yahweh before he ascended," Uriel decided 
that not only was the current plot something to stop but this whole 
business of physical law permitting violations of causality had to go.  
First order of business was taking out the Aztecs, and then he had to 
push further into the Marches in order to cast Ouroboros into the 
possibility-chaos beyond Utgard, altering physical law to negate the 
possibility of time travel.  That meant, regrettably, that the dragons 
had to go, but duty was duty.

All to the good, in my opinion; never liked time-travel games.  I also 
kind of like the pathos involved in the entire affair being so delicate 
that the Commander of the Host himself couldn't tell anyone, even the 
Archangel of Judgment.  Getting called to the Higher Heavens rather 
than having to live with that secret for the rest of eternity must have 
been a blessing.
