Check the archives for some really good fanon under the heading,
"Trials of Michael," iirc. Fun stuff. My own view of Michael, as
Archangel of War, is that any fight that advances the side of right
garners him Word Forces. Any fight that puts a demon in Trauma gives
him Word Forces. Putting a demon into Trauma personally, or
Soul-killing a demon would be not just an advancement of the cause but
personal strengthening ("Know that even in death, you strengthen the
cause you fight against"--how's that for demoralizing?). How do you
win against an enemy that grows stronger for every one of yours he
takes out? Yes, I'm very much in favor of the view in Hell that
Michael is the bogeyman. It's certainly not a view that's popular with
those in charge, but among imps, newly fledged demons, and even those
who've served earthside, the rumor persists: the Archangel of War is
unstoppable, and when you're not looking, he'll get *you.* All of
that, no doubt, amuses Michael to no end. After all--it's True....
;;;-)

was a time when killers needed saints, for so much of God's
