I'm unfamiliar with the advanced dynamics of Essence vs. Dissonance, though I have to say that the concept of a "demon of Freedom" makes me blink a couple of times.

Yes, the whole concept of the Fall might be considered an illustration of the ultimate abuse of freedom, but that's exactly what it is: abuse of freedom, a decision made for the wrong reasons and with disastrous consequences. Irresponsibility is frequently confused with freedom because the when a subject avoids fulfilling duties and the consequences are not immediately or otherwise demonstrably visited upon the subject, observers may think that the subject 'got away clean'...

My inexperienced opinion is that such a Rite would, by definition be Divine in nature, and a Demonic servitor employing it would generate Dissonance. True freedom requires accurate and timely knowledge of the facts, as well as the experience and training to assemble those facts into logically defensible actions. Demonic behavior and operations, at their cores, are based on self-deception and by extension deception of the rest of the Symphony: A Djinn, for example is defined by his or her refusal to acknowledge how deeply he or she cares about a particular subject. Such a being, employing the Rite described, might be forced to recognize the injustice that he or she has visited upon a subject by the act of refusing to acknowledge the emotional bond as the Dissonance experience.
 
But I'm perfectly happy to hear opposing viewpoints.
