If Stefan had the slightest idea of what a "lich" was, he'd probably call himself one. As it is, the demon has a surprisingly vague notion of the ways of the corporeal plane, partially because he works for a Prince that is not especially careful at maintaining a proper training schedule... but mostly because Stefan has an utter lack of interest in the topic. Earth is where the humans live, until Stefan kills them and makes their corpses into zombis. He doesn't really need to know - or want to know - much of anything else.

Stefan is not really a subtle demon. The combination of his Band attunement and his natural tendencies leads him to try to solve most problems by casually killing the nearest human, harvesting their corpses for their Essence, use the Essence to power a Song that will kill more humans, harvesting the new corpses for their Essence... keep repeating until the problem is solved, or there are at least no more handy humans to kill. The ensuing Disturbance and attention that this type of strategy rapidly generates is apparently yet one more thing that the Impudite is indifferent towards. Stefan is not supremely confident in his own ability to get out of whatever mess that he might get himself into; he simply doesn't recognize that he could get into messes in the first place. The Impudite has a very high opinion of himself, despite the fact that his most interesting feature is that he knows more Songs than the average celestial. On the other hand, he's
more than willing to use them to further the cause of Hell generally, not just the cause of Stefan (or Saminga). As long as there's a steady body count, he's happy.

All in all, since Stefan is a newly-made demon who has just started working on the corporeal plane, he is generally unaware about just how risky a position he's in. Presumably, either he'll learn quickly, or get destroyed quickly; it'll all depend on whether or not he can adjust his thinking in time. Or whether his colleagues will continue to conclude that the benefits of having someone with Stefan's Song list along continues to outweigh the drawbacks of having Stefan himself...

[Stefan is a balanced starting character, but only for games where the GM does not object (on either practical or aesthetic grounds) to random Fireball attacks by PCs.]
