Gremlins can fledge into Balseraphs, Calabim, or Habbalah.  They'll 
likely hang out a lot with those Bands, two of which have serious 
mind-twisting Resonances they'll feel free to use on the demonling as 
they feed it the party line.  To fledge Balseraph or Habbalah, you 
already *are* pretty crazy.

Alternatively, note that it's extremely rare, but not unheard of, for a 
demonling with an unusual level of smarts and perception to realize 
that his trainers and peers are, well, jerks.  And crazy.  Such 
demonlings can occasionally escape Hell and head straight for the 
nearest angelic Tether to be easily redeemed into a Reliever.  
Perversely, though, as soon as one realizes how nasty and cruel this 
entire realm is, and that they're better than that, there just might be 
a friendly Habbalite nearby to tell him, "You're right, and I think you 
just might be one of the chosen few who *are* destined to become 
something more than a demon."
