The players weren't mixed, but I've run one arc in which it was
necessary for the angelic PCs to work with a demon for a while. It
helped that there was very little human interaction; the angels were
very protective of the few that were encountered during that arc. A
demon in good standing will be trying to push people toward their fate,
which angels shouldn't be tolerating in the least. He'll be attempting
to do so subtly when possible; a casual comment here, a little lie
there. Hopefully the affair will involve as few humans as possible
directly. Lacking this, tensions over individual fates and destinies
will be high.
A mixed game will work best if the demons are extremely sympathetic,
possibly Redemption candidates, or at least generally Renegade and not
actively damning people. On the angels' side, Trade, Flowers and the
like are your best options. Lilim, especially Frees, can be at least
somewhat trusted at their Geased word. Divine Contract is also good.
It will also help if there is an overriding mission-oriented motivation
for the players to cooperate, preferably one that deals with some
cosmic threat to the Symphony and thus, in particular, the demons'
personal lives or livelihoods. Come the climax and the removal of the
immediate urgency, all involved should be prepared for the sudden surge
of backstabbing. My arc ended up with the place literally crashing
down around everyone's heads, providing a reason for mutual bailing
without a last kiss goodbye (though the Lilim left behind a Geas due,
even so).
