I do something different, actually.
I define the soul - the true animus - as separate from the Forces. The
Forces are the definitions of the being in a physical, mental and
spiritual sense, but they all together form a container for the
animus. The animus is released at death, and reincarnates,
discorporates or achieves Heaven or Hell depending on the actions of
the person in life.
IMC, Angels and Demons *also* have an Animus -- when you destroy all
the Celestial's Celestial Forces -- 'soulkilling' them -- their animus
is released. Unlike humans, the animus of a celestial thus released
never goes to Heaven or Hell. Many believe it automatically
discorporates. Others whisper that maybe, just maybe it reincarnates.
And some believe that angelic souls go to the Higher Heavens and
demonic souls to the Lower Hells, after 'soulkilling,' never to return.
An Undead, from Zombi through Lich, corrupts and pollutes the
container. They are given 'immortality,' but what *actually* happens
is their animus is released from their body immediately, but their
body just... *continues.* The immortality is the cruelest of jokes,
because they have literally died in the process, but find no peace.
To date, no undead's animus has been seen in Hell. Which may mean all
undead souls discorporate, or may mean they all reincarnate... or it
may mean that Saminga has some trick up his sleeve, and untold
'unaccounted for' undead souls under his control....
