That has to be the best explanation of  Eli's walkabout that I've  
ever encountered.

Undead only exist on the corporeal.  They are really not all that  
common, and finding one that Eli could stand having consensual  
relations with might be a task.  Not to mention bringing about an  
orgasm in someone who is literally a dried out mummy might be quite a  
task.

Who says Jean has to be the one to figure everything out?

And how would it free the soul?  Would the undead become unanimated  
as their soul returns to the Great Wheel?  Would they become  
breathers again?  Would they retain their undead status but rest  
easier now that they know they will no longer be extinguished when  
their body fails?  (Answer: It depends on the individual.  Some do,  
some don't.)

And what will happen to Saminga once the other Princes learn that he  
is secretly a necrophile?
