I didn't actually bother to define what and how things happened, since it
was more or less just for atmosphere. I just made sure that there was at
least one way it could all have happened.
Speaking of which, here's a third, improbable but still plausible way it
could have happened. A Kyriotate can use his/her resonance over a phone,
if (s)he can perceive (hear) the person on the other end. All AA's can
use the resonance of any Choir (I'm pretty sure I've seen that, but even
if not, the Song of Possession doesn't list a range limitation in the core
rules). Finally, Michael has excellent hearing, so if the Soldier opened
his mouth in the background at the wrong time...
In any event, I was mostly after atmosphere and characterization.
Michael's a _mean_ angel, in my campaign - be glad you're on _his_ side.
I also got the atmosphere I wanted for my "Michael Arc" phase of my
campaign - the feeling of being a soldier on the front line of a war,
where things are just plain dangerous all the time, and even if you do
everything perfectly a mortar might still land in your foxhole. I kept
the characters _very_ nervous for the entire thing.
Next up: my "Eli Arc." Time to switch atmosphere again.... Any
suggestions?
-Mike
