I've now run those simulations.  These are very simplified simulations, 
with no interventions or supernatural effects considered.  With just a 
one-on-one situation, the longest combat involving my bricks works out to 
be about 7 rounds.  I think I can live with that!

Fixing the damage by adding CorpForces solved everything.  I tried a few 
sims with the old method and got a few combats around 17 rounds, which is 
a bit excessive for my tastes.

The other benefit is that I could take the prospective opposition and plug 
it into the sims and then tweak the numbers until it's a good challenge.  
I'm very glad I did that, because I'd underestimated the numbers by about 
a third.  It would have been a no-challenge pushover.  (Victory to the 
Malakim in about 4 rounds).
