  Yup... humans are often more dangerous.  It's not
dissonant to treat humans differently, it's dissonant to
regard human life as more important than animal life. 
Having regard for the life of the bees by keeping them away
from an actual hazard is perfectly acceptable -- indeed,
Jordi probably expects it.
