Leading on from the idea of a swarm counting as one entity:

What if there were a group of Shedim who were possessing swarms of
bees to try and learn how to recreate the Legion effect? Starting off
with posssessing a hive (a fairly homogenous group of animals with a
central 'mind') and then trying to jump to another group of animals
that are similarly homogenous but in which each individual is a bit
more independant and building up (say, bee hive to wasp nest to a
family of small mammals to a wolf pack etc.) Maybe this is what's
causing the bee disappearances?
Could be a fun adventure seed that starts off with a relatively small
assignment from Lightning or Animals 'Go figure out why the bees are
disappearing' and builds into a rather epic climax.
