That'd be part of it of course, but Malakim would also
understand animals who are now part of the human
world. A dog is born into a human 'pack' - loyalty to
a human family is part of its nature. A Malakite -
capable of swearing loyalty to an unworthy superior -
would understand the friction, and still aid the dog,
even when despising the human masters.
Freeing animals isn't going to cause any problems with
Judgement. Lilith may be Freedom, but she's also
human.
And made of meat.
And Jordi eating Lilith shouldn't result in his being
tried for Gluttony either...
