If a Belialite's plans draw the attention of The Game,
they will get dissonance they've been burnt by their
own schemes. Although exploiting this can simplify
meeting quota, getting caught encouraging dissonance
will get the Gamester executed.
A smarter option for an Asmodean is to keep records of
every mistake the local Firies make, particularly if
the Hound has the Dissonance Binding attunement. Then
should an Arsonist get out of hand, the Gamester can
reveal his many mistakes, trapping him in even larger
amounts of dissonance.
Paradoxically, this makes a clumsy Belialite less of a
concern to The Game than a careful one. The careful
Arsonist might succeed at going Renegade or Redeeming,
where a clumsier Firey can be collected at will.
The downside to this (other than a devolutionary slide
in the intelligence of Belialites) is the difficulty
in getting bribes out of Fire. Showing proof of
treachery pushes the Belialite further away from Hell
their crimes become too serious to ignore.
The simplest solutions are to insist on minor bribes
from every Arsonist, heavily investigating those who
refuse; and to push Fire towards disposing of The
Game's enemies.
And Belial *hates* Asmodeus' enemies. Valefor and
Kobal in particular. Almost as if The Game had been
carefully grooming him for 22,000 years.
Meanwhile, Gamesters have other interests. The Eyes of
Blight attunement, describing weaknesses in demons
that can be exploited should they turn Renegade. The
Djinn of Fire attunement: strip the seared flesh from
a branded Gamester, and you have a Gamester immune to
the Belialite's powers *and* a way of tracking down
the Stalker at will. And that's before any unusual
powers the Gamester may manifest when the brand is
removed! Moderately intelligent Djinn will realize
that they're being exploited - very intelligent ones
will realize that the alternative is being destroyed
by The Game. The majority of Djinn of Fire will be too
stupid to know or care.
Shedim of Fire make reasonable spies for The Game
sitting in a roaring fireplace, or a factory
incinerator, sometimes even a single candle flame -
they can listen in on conversations. Sadly this trick
is well known; Haagentians have developed the habit of
eating any candle on the dinner table!
Of course, more experienced Belialites prefer to avoid
the attention of The Game being in the center of a
forest fire or at the top of a burning building
discourages Gamesters from visiting! Still, as long as
they're furthering Belial's Word, they're not a
problem for The Game.
