In fact that might be the only time the angel can see their superior
at all if you keep canon and don't let God descend to the lower
heavens (or let servitors ascend to the higher heavens). Lucifer might
be more flexible since the lower hells aren't strictly off limits,
just somewhere no sane being would go. They could also use
intermediates of course, but at the end of the day isn't that was the
other Superiors are anyway? There has to be a direct link somewhere.
Actually in this scenario I'd probably prefer to have God pull an Eli
without anyone noticing and just be permanently on the corporeal.
Fun Heresy of the day: Many renegade Haballah really *do* report
directly to God. He's got no idea what to do with them or how they
keep finding Him but they do report to him, in person on the corporeal
and everything. The simple shock of finally having their delusions
backed up by reality has driven a non-insignificant number to
spontaneously redeem and end up back in heaven with
convenient-to-the-plot-induced amnesia that causes them to entirely
forget how they got there. Luckily most of them are completely content
with the result.
