That was sent prematurely.  I was going to say that Instinct is what
distinguishes animals from people: Since an animal's Instincts defines
its place in the Symphony, it cannot influence the Symphony while
behaving in accordance to its Instincts: it can only influence Words,
create Tethers, accomplish its destiny, or succumb to its fate when it
is not following its Instincts.  Since animals usually obey their
Instincts, they don't usually do these things; since humans lack
Instincts, they are potentially doing these sorts of things all the
time.
