First: my apologies on the small-d destiny and small-f fate issue. I was
clearly in the wrong on that piece of nomenclature.
Second: I admit that I do not see exactly why "voiding" a destiny/fate
is fanon, but "screwing with" a destiny/fate is canon. I do
not understand what difference is intended. But so be it. I bow to
the Line Editor, and hereby reword my use of "voiding" to
"screwing with".
As for other objections, I believe I failed to explain myself
clearly enough.
Now: Suppose a sufficiently powerful entity wants to prevent *both*
destinies and fates. I will be more explicit--such a desire presumably
excludes both Demon Princes and Archangels. And very likely most
demons and angels. I mentioned Lilith in SSO as a possibility; for
an in-canon possibility, an Ethereal god would work. If such
an entity makes a sufficiently public display, I believe this would
cause massive enough celestial interference to, ahem, *screw
with* many, many people's destinies and fates. Thus presumably
preventing a great many people from going to Heaven *or* to
Hell, at least for one incarnation. (Again, this presumably excludes
Demon Princes and Archangels from desiring to do this.) In fact,
since humanity is not likely to forget Lilith/Loki/whoever materializing
in the middle of the World Cup, the celestial interference might
continue for millenia.
(I note that at no time did I make the fanon assumption that
celestial interference merely changes a destiny/fate. In fact,
for this trick to be at all useful, one would have to assume
that celestial interference "screwing with" a destiny/fate
equals preventing or invalidating a destiny/fate, not just
altering it.)
As a side issue: yes, this would be an extremely foolhardy act for
the entity doing it, since every Demon Prince and Archangel
would probably take it personally, beginning with Yves and
Kronos. An Ethereal god doing this would probably not survive
long. However, since suicide bombers exist in real life, such a
level of dedication against tyranny/suicidal spite (however one
wishes to view it) may also exist in the IN setting.
