This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. My site is down for rebuilding, but sooner or
later the old stuff should reappear at omeyer.gmxhome.de

Anachronistic 1¼ ton Truck v1.0 (TL5)
Copyright 2009 by Onno Meyer
In some alternate history stories, one side finds efficient uses for
historical technologies. In other novels, genuine time travelers bring
modern concepts with them. This truck looks a bit like a HMMWV, but it
uses much earlier technology - possibly from 1890 or 1900.
The basic 1¼ ton truck is configured as a pickup. It has an enclosed
cab with two seats, and the sideboards can fold down to create benches
for eight passengers in the rear. The front-mounted engine powers only
the rear axle, but large wheels allow some off-road performance. Both
the canvas top of the flatbed and the metal top of the cab can be
removed to enhance visibility or simplify transport of the truck.
At normal cruise speed, the engine uses 3.6 gallons of gasoline per
hour. A full tank is $15.
Subassemblies: Body +3, four Heavy Wheels +1.
Powertrain: 60-kW wheeled drivetrain; 60-kW gasoline engine; 250-kWs
