Exploration Catamaran v1.0 (TL10)

  The Exploration Catamaran was designed for detailed oceanographic and 
biological surveys of water worlds. The first starships provide orbital 
maps and conduct a few landings, but it takes surface travel (boats, in 
the case of water-rich worlds) to evaluate an ecosphere fully.
  The Exploration Catamaran has a rigid 50' wingsail, covered by solar 
cells to power a closed life support system. This environmental system 
is not intended for toxic atmospheres - there are no airlocks - but it 
protects the alien biosphere. The left hull of the catamaran holds the 
cabin for two crew, the right hull contains a workshop and stores for 
many months, even years.

Powertrain: 1,250 sf solar cells; three 360,000-kWs rechargeable power 
  cells.

Design Notes
  Body is 2,000 cf, with heavy compartmentalization, fine hydrodynamics,  
and a catamaran hull. Wingsail is 1,250 sf. Structure is light, very 
cheap. Armor is cheap composite. Sealed. 248 cf empty space. Empty 
weight is 16,000 lbs. 
  The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third 
printing, January 2007 errata], VXi and VXii (including the armor volume 
rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite.
