This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

HeliTruck v1.0 (TL8)
Copyright 2009 by Onno Meyer
Some science fiction writers predicted ubiquitous personal helicopters
by the late 20th century. This never happened in the real world, but the
HeliTruck can be used for games in these settings.
The HeliTruck can carry two crew and up to fourteen passengers or the
equivalent amount of cargo, perhaps the groceries for a small town or a
shift of offshore workers. The cruising range is some 300 miles at 130
mph.
The turbines burn 66 gallons of fuel per hour at routine speed. A
tank of diesel is $192.
Subassemblies: Body +4, six retractable Wheels +0, Top-and-Tail Rotor
+1.
Powertrain: 1,200-kW top and tail rotor drivetrain; two 600-kW standard
gas turbines; 25,000-kWs advanced battery.
Fuel: 160 gallons diesel (fire 7).
Occ: 2 NCS, 14 folding CS. Cargo: 32 cf.

body. Rotor is 12 cf, folding. Structure is light and standard. Armor is
standard composite. Electronic controls with duplicate maneuver
controls. There are 39.1 cf of empty space in the body. Empty weight is
4,800 lbs.
The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, Dec 2004 errata], VXi and VXii (including the armor volume and
ceiling rules) with the text format from Vehicles Lite.
Next Week: A TL11 space marine carrier.
