[gurps] Create Servant Hypothetical

Hi Vk,

The quick answer to your question is that all illusions and/or creations
will disappear upon the character's falling asleep per the normal rules for
maintaining spells (ie, you can't maintain spells while asleep).

The other "philosophical" aspect to what you asked pertained to their
forming memories, personalities, etc. Reading the spell Initiative, it
states "Gives some semblence" of intelligence etc. From that alone, I'd say
that the semblence of intelligence is on par with a robotic program
simulating intelligence as opposed to an outright sentient being. Your
milage may vary of course ;)

         Hal

 Okay, something going on here...

Say you have a powerful Creator Mage and s/he creates a servant with the
Create Servant spell, uses Initiative to give it an assortment of skills,
possibly even above average intelligence, and then maintains that servant
indefinitely...

Does this Servant have a conscience? Is it sentient? I suspect not. Does
it form memories? Or have a psychology?
Hmm...

Does it have rights, even if it is not sentient? Particularly if it forms
memories...

Is it a crime to abuse such a servant? Does such a servant need
recreational down time?
