Yes, it does help to have the party have reasons to be together, having a Palidin and some mages or like persons does not work, unless you going for something like Three Musketeers and Cardinal Richeleu and his contacts?

Also helps if the party members that are close, such as spouses are of like bent.. Had to many times when the wife who was like a Palidin, came to the defense of her husband, but problems was he was an Assassin who was open about it..
