Judging from what other people have said, and from the way mundane
pharmaceuticals work, a dose can be any size you want. The actual
"dose" for most mundane pharmaceuticals is very, very small, often way
less than a single gram. 99.9% of the mass you ingest when you take a
pill or a spoon of liquid medicine is just there to make it bulkier.
You could have the doses for alchemical elixirs work in a similar way,
and adjust their mass according to how many doses you want your PCs to
carry on average. If it's possible to have elixirs in pill form, it
could be possible to carry a small bottle with 100 doses or more. If
they have to be more dilluted to work correctly, each dose would take
up a small vial of liquid (30-120ml, or 1-4 oz.). If the elixirs are
liquid, and the doses are small, then cramming multiple doses in a
large bottle without a way to precisely measure them might be unwise.
What happens when you overdose on strenght potions? :)
