Radio direction finding would be very useful for making sure that the
road you're dozing goes where it's supposed to.

Modern construction equipment often has the same sorts of lights that
emergency vehicles have, just in yellow and white, instead of red and
blue.  A rotating strobe beacon isn't cheap.  They're also a
maintenance item.
