*Start* the turn touching the subject. Subject is bound, subject is surprised, subject was expecting you to be casting a beneficial spell, not a harmful one... you cast it with skill 20 and therefore didn't look like you were casting at all...

Or have Compartmentalized Mind 1, which lets you Concentrate and Attack at the same time.
