One thing I've always wondered about....

Once you get sufficiently advanced hover/anti-grav, doesn't it make
legged/wheeled/tracked drivetrains almost obsolete?  Why walk when you
can fly just as easily?

I think the only real advantage to legged mecha is the fact that
humans are born and raised to bipedal locomotion.  Any minor
advantages of that form can be easily overcome by training in a
different form of locomotion.  Especially if you include cybernetic
capability... you think 'walk forward' computer translates that to
'roll forward' or 'jumpjet forward' or 'fly forward'...
