This sounds like a noble pursuit, but I suspect its doomed to fail.

If you are really lucky, you'll get maybe half of the readership of
the original Pyramid groups.  More than likely you'll only get about
10%.

I've never subscribed to Pyramid, but I suspect many people did so for
the articles and the playtest access.  Neither of those will be
available on your newsgroup...
What are you offering that isn't available on the web forums? Or isn't
available on THIS mailing list?
