I'm not trying to supplant or replace the mailing list at all; sorry if
I didn't make that clear. I'm trying to replace one closed NNTP service
that's being withdrawn with another closed NNTP service. I'm mentioning
it here simply because, unlike the Pyramid groups, it will not require a
subscription: therefore there may well be people interested in joining
it who read this list but do not have Pyramid subscriptions, and who
therefore won't be aware of the situation.

That's correct. My experience running a large web site is that Google
and the traffic it brings are generally more trouble than they're worth.
