I have found it very much cleaner than 3rd, both in organisation and in
play, while not sacrificing the detail and options that I like. I've run
a few campaigns with it; all the ones listed on http://tekeli.li/ except
the Pendragon game has been run under GURPS 4th.

Generally not much of a problem unless the detailed crunch is what makes
the character interesting. Note the free "GURPS Update" document (on e23
among other places).
