You're right. I didn't read closely enough and didn't see that
the other party members were taking bad rep disadvantages.
That's way different than just having bad charisma.

So let me wipe this egg off my face and then share a thought.

Association affection reputation (As we should be learning from
the current election coverage). You may want to require that a
character that takes reputation affecting characteristics has
those characteristics pass on, at least in part, to the whole
party.
