This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. My site is down for rebuilding, but sooner or
later the old stuff should reappear at omeyer.gmxhome.de

Poni Cart v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL5)
  Copyright 2008 by Onno Meyer

The poni - not to be confused with the Terran pony - can be found on
many worlds in known space. A team of four ponis can pull a twenty-ton
load at a fair walking speed for most of a day.
The cart has a small bench for the driver and a canvas-covered cargo
bed. The wooden stakes and sideboards can be removed for loading or to
accommodate oversized loads. The front wheels have a diameter of 90 cm
and the rear wheels have a diameter of 120 cm. The poni cart has a
mechanical brake, but no other controls or instruments.

Design Notes
Body is 640 cf. Wheels are 160 cf (increased volume). Structure is
heavy and standard. Armor is standard wood. Primitive controls. Empty
weight is 15,800 lbs.
The poni is assumed to be a 12-hex animal with ST 250 and Move 10.
The vehicle uses the design rules from GURPS Vehicles [2nd edition,
3rd printing, Dec 2004 errata], VXii (the armor volume rule) and the
text format from Vehicles Lite. The Traveller background affects the
design decisions, not the technology.

Next Week: Probably more Traveller stuff.
