This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. My site is down for rebuilding, but sooner or
later the old stuff should reappear at omeyer.gmxhome.de

Multicycle v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL5)
  Copyright 2008 by Onno Meyer

Historically, bicycles and sewing machines drove the developmment of
precision manufacturing. On other planets, the role might be filled by
the Multicycle. It is a four-wheeled, muscle-powered vehicle with four
seats arranged two by two and a luggage basket in the rear. All riders
help to pedal the Multicycle, but only one has to pay attention to the
road. The transmission and gearbox are oversized for human operators,
allowing for errors in the design and wear and tear. Ordinary drivers
can expect to do 10 or 11 mph on decent roads.

extra-light and standard. Body armor is standard, open-frame, wood,
wheel armor is standard metal. Primitive controls. 2.6 cf of empty
space. Empty weight is 1,000 lbs.
The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, Dec 2004 errata], Vehicles Lite, VXi and VXii (armor volume)
with the text format from Vehicles Lite. The Traveller background
affects the design decisions, not the technology.

Next Week: A TL13 space freighter as the basis for a nanofactory ship.
