Standard-class 1-ton Range Truck v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL5)

  During the Long Night, the planet Sonthert lost most technology. Only 
a few motor vehicles are produced each year, and what is called a Range 
Truck is in fact a luxury touring car, not an off-road pickup truck.
  The Standard has an open body with two seats in front and two benches 
in the rear, facing each other and with enough space for a map table or 
standing dignitaries on a parade. A large and crude six-cylinder petrol 
engine is hidden behind fine wood paneling and leather upholstery. The 
Standard Range Truck can carry a fair amount of luggage and even tow a 
trailer for long inspection tours.
  At travel speed, the engine burns 7.5 gallons of gasoline per hour. A 
full load of fuel is $15.

Subassemblies: Body +4, six Heavy Wheels +1. 
Powertrain: 125-kW wheeled drivetrain; 125-kW gasoline engine; 4,000-kWs
  lead-acid battery.
Fuel: 50 gallons gasoline (fire on 12).
Occ: 1 XRCS, 5 XRS.   Cargo: 25 cf.

Design Notes
  Body is 400 cf. Wheels are 100 cf (increased volume). Structure is 
light and expensive. Armor is expensive metal. Mechanical controls. 
113.7 cf of empty space. Empty weight is 8,000 lbs.
  The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third 
printing, Dec 2004 errata], Vehicles Lite, VXi and VXii (armor volume) 
with the text format from Vehicles Lite. The Traveller background 
affects the design decisions, not the technology.
