Hi Johannes,
Off hand, I can't think of any from my relatively weak grasp of cultural
history. One thought that did strike me however was this...

If you have such a demonic entity or diety - wouldn't the existence of such
a Pact or bargain ultimately destroy the culture that would thrive with it?
10 years automatic death means that like any parasite which kills off its
host before it can reproduce in numbers, it will ultimately kill off the
host and ultimately, the general "cultural species" as it were. Perhaps a
more subtle bargain might be a touch more costly in one sense, yet not kill
off the culture in another. What if the bargain were such that the person
making a bargain had to reproduce in a particular fashion? What if the
host had 10 years from when the bargain is struck to produce a child and
dedicate the child to the diety/demon in question or EVERYTHING that was
bargained for would be lost/reversed? Dedicating a child to the
diety/demon would result in a priestly caste who help spread the worship,
or it might provide willing hosts for possession, or what have you. Right
off the bat, I could see where a child "raised" as a dedicated worshipper
for a diety/demon might become known as "The Ridden" where they
automatically suffer the disadvantage "Weak will" so that they can be
possessed more easily.

Just thinking aloud...
