Hm, I would use a low-TL version of the "Science!" skill for that one.

 I guess you could also use "Modular Abilities" with the "Spells Only, 
-20%" modifier or "Wild Talent", but in my experience that just leads to 
long breaks in the game, while GM and one player argue about which spell 
to use...
