Sad how sometimes blatent and I suspect corrupt capitalism, decides things that should be better.. Such as who now controls the cable and like networks.. They are often slow in change an tech upgrade, tech upgrades are EXPENSIVE, so they don't want to do it, unless forced by competition, regulation or people just don't buy it any more. But the right of ways are controlled by who? Feds or .. 

Such as the things that a cell phone can do, but not allowed to or those in control just lack forthought or control over it.

Why its good to have some one like Steve Jobs or like make some choices and put things together in one? 

But examples like why you have several different forms of connectors, such as even motorola has two diffterent connectors and what it uses to hotsync with.. Over seas connections and the product is not made by Motorola, but licensed by.. 

Standards would be nice, but .. Why we stay with RCA, and 1 inch and like connectors? CoAx and what else?  

Sadly with our roads not being up to date and maintained, not likely anyone will do a new back bone for cell/internet connections and such. I expect next thing we will be buying satellite time from Chinese and Indian satellites, so will see?

Army, got to love them, the whole tech based on the cheapest builder, but also by politics. Such as why the Army pushed the TACCS box back in the 1980/90s, but it was based on Borroughs tech. Borroughs I remember was going down the  tubes..  But then when Desert Storm came about, they quickly found the whole system to be inadequate due in part to most units used Windows/Dos based machines, and software. But the US Army pay and like system was Borroughs or IBM I forget, which meant atleast one level of having to convert from one system to another to make things happen.

TACCS 2  had an emulator or like that allowed people to use their Windows/DOS software, so ... 

I do see with Bill out of the picture, we shall see more Linix or like systems or what? After all Bils had the connections and power to force things even if wrong. Keep them busy with corrections and updates and locked into things? Maybe time for a Liniux or like sytsem but with a shell of Windows, like how MAC 
System 10 is.. What about the Ipod is it Linux or ... with a Java shell or what?

Back to cable and like, maybe its time we go over seas and get SATELLITE or what? But like the fuel/power we are stuck with ancient tech and its network of distribution and power structure. 

Or, how to have your own gas station? But with out networking with those who refine it? Or those who regulate it, or who carry it to your stations and then charg what you want, and I strongly suspect you will not have Gas to sell.. Sorry, gas is CONTROLLED. Same as other means of things..
