The subfighters are even worse, 300 knots. On the other hand, they
can have a much lower endurance, so supercavitation may be an
option.

I don't want to use such rules - mixed TLs make it more difficult to
re-use a vehicle.

Fit airlocks (sealocks) to the exterior hatches.

No, they'd just have to be at the same level. I can't explain the
physics in English, but it is the same principle that allows you to
drain fuel from a car with a rubber tube.
