I haven't started with the conversion yet. "Thinking aloud" is a way to 
check my assumption while I collect the data. 

Right now I'm reasonably certain it should be a TL10 suit with a heavy 
dose of "safetech" or "retrotech", to use the UTT labels. But when I 
really do the numbers, I might find out that the TL won't allow me 
the performance I need, or whatever. 

It could still be a "very retrotech" TL11, unless the aircar was an 
air-breather with ducted fans or a low-payload, low-endurance TL10
model with super reactionless thrusters.
