For dialup I suggest TeamSpeak. You can set the quality levels much 
lower than Vent, such that our WoW guild could have dialup members on 
Raids in WoW successfully, and one brave fellow who was even playing 
from Australia despite the horrific latancy times.

Admittedly everyone starts to sound like robots when you turn the 
quality down that far... but it does work. Basically.
