This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. My site is down for rebuilding, but sooner or
later the old stuff should reappear at omeyer.gmxhome.de

Hybrid Utility Shuttle v1.0 (TL8/12)
  Copyright 2007 by Onno Meyer

Many science fiction backgrounds mix near future technology with a few
breakthroughs to allow interstellar travel. The craft described here has
a contragrav unit and a STL engine, violating physics as we know it, and
an optimistic power storage cell.
The Hybrid Utility Shuttle has ten seats and room for a ton of gear. A
large rear ramp and a small side airlock allow entry on habitable worlds
or airless moons. The compact power cell provides energy for 24 hours of
operation and a delta-V of 340 km/s.
In a game, the Utility Shuttle provides local transport for starships
crews and on colony worlds. A colonial shuttle crew might spend one day
fixing commo sats, another day on search and rescue, and a few exciting
moments every now and then supporting the police.

Design Notes
Finely made. Body is 1,000 cf, with underbelly skids and superior
streamlining. Structure is light and advanced. Armor is advanced
composite. Sealed. Computerized controls with dual maneuver controls.
There are 18.53 cf of empty space. Empty weight is 16,000 lbs.
The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [2nd edition, 3rd
printing, Dec 2004 errata], VXi and VXii (including the armor volume
rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite. All components except
for those listed as TL12 are TL8.

Next Week: A tramp trader.
